We Need To Slow Down Lord

We need to slow down Lord,
life is too fast,
like a run away train
beating down the tracks.

Are we taking the time
to be with You,
The most important thing,
anyone can do!

Help us Father,
to Seek Your face,
Lean on you
for more mercy and grace.

The tempter loves
to draw us astray,
Waste our time
Each and every day.

We make our list
a mile long,
Are You on the top
Where You belong?

So many good intentions,
Are in our hearts,
But another day passes
Another day departs.

Those in nursing homes,
Crying out each day,
Lord please send someone
to Visit me today!

Hurting people,
Feeling forsaken and lost,
Do we take the time,
No matter what the cost?

Another day gone,
Groceries to buy,
Errands to run
And we pass them all by.

Father forgive us,
Jesus always took His time,
He was never in a hurry,
We were always on His Mind.

He knew when to rest,
and knew when to serve,
He rose up early
Gave You the place you deserved!

Help us reach out,
to those in need,
Lead the way Oh Lord,
Remove our selfishness and greed.

Open our eyes,
to see those in pain,
Let us not pass by,
Whether sunshine or rain!

Let us smile
and shake a hand,
Write that letter
And help our fellowman!

Our suffering Brethren,
persecuted and alone,
Are they in our prayers,
For You to atone!

Father help us realize
The reason we are here,
Is to Glorify You,
And wipe away many a tear!

Your children's cries,
should rend our hearts,
Open our souls,
From our own desires, depart!

No one is forsaken,
Jesus died for all,
Many have fallen,
Let us heed Your call!
