Everyone wants to have happiness and love in their lives. Many people are looking for love in all the wrong places. There are many Christians who have failed in life's race and see no use in trying again. The Lord speaks to hearts each day hoping they will hear His voice calling them to return to their first love and find forgiveness and peace.
We hear of many examples in the world of people who struck out, but pressed on until they accomplished their goals. During Babe Ruth's big-league career, he hit 714 home runs. Most sports fans know this fact, but many are unaware that he struck out 1,330 times. He is still on record as being "the home run king"......because he kept on swinging. The story is also told that Andrew Jackson’s boyhood friends just couldn’t understand how he became a famous general and then the President of the United States. They knew of other men who had greater talent, but who never succeeded. One of Jackson’s friends said, “Why, Jim Brown, who lived right down the pike from Jackson, was not only smarter, but he could throw Andy three times out of four in a wrestling match. But look where Andy is now.” Another friend responded, “How did there happen to be a fourth time? Didn’t they usually say three times and out?” “Sure, they were supposed to, but not Andy. He would never admit he was beat—he would never stay ‘throwed.’ Jim Brown would get tired, and on the fourth try, Andrew Jackson would throw him and then be the winner.”
Picking up on that idea, someone has said, “The thing that counts is not how many times you are ‘throwed,’ but whether you are willing to stay ‘throwed.’” We may face setbacks, but we must take courage and go forward in faith. Then, through the Holy Spirit’s power, we can be the eventual victor over sin and the world. The battle is the Lord’s, so there is no excuse for one to stay beat down by the schemes of the enemy.
The attitude which we all must have is to stay in the race and keep on "keeping on" for the Lord. The righteous may fall seven times, but they will rise up again if their heart is in God. The wicked are not so, but are said to fall into mischief. If one stumbles, it does not mean they are out of the race. God is a God who will restore and give souls a brand new start. We don't have to stay "throwed" or "strike out" in life's race. Our God is a God who restores and will make us all winners in His Army. You are never a loser unless you quit.
Do you want to be continually blessed? The secret is in righteous living and resisting temptations. When we resist the enemy, he will flee from us. We also have a promise of the crown of life when we keep the shield of faith before us and never turn back to the old ways of sin.
Happiness is to know the Savior.....living a life within His favor. When we let
Jesus be Lord of our lives, we have His ever abiding presence. In His presence is fullness of joy, which means blessings are ours, when we make Christ Lord of all. Happiness is the Lord!
Blessings In Christ,
[ 14 ] - That our oxen may be strong to labour; that there be no breaking in, nor going out; that there be no complaining in our streets.
[ 15 ] - Happy is that people, that is in such a case: yea, happy is that people, whose God is the Lord.
