A Merry Heart

"A merry heart doeth good as a medicine..."
( Proverbs 17: 22 )
Henry Ward Beecher said: "mirth is God’s medicine. Everybody ought to bathe in it.
Grim care, sadness, anxiety—all this rust of life—ought to be scoured off by the oil of mirth."
This is so true. God has the best cure for all ills. His joy is our strength and a merry heart
does one good, like a medicine. Whatever the problem may be, God has a solution.
Mirth has been defined as that which causes merriment. When in Christ, we have the joy
of the Lord within our hearts. Regardless of the circumstances within us, we can be secure
in the one in whom we abide.
Have you ever seen Christians who seem to have no joy or happiness in their lives?
The Lord will restore unto them the "joy of their salvation" when they pray as David
the Psalmist, and seek the Lord's face. Life is not always a bed of roses and may
have many thorns. However, we know that Jesus is as the Rose of Sharon among all
the thorns of this life. He is the "sweet fragrance" of God who gives us true joy
as only He can do. If one ever comes to the place where they feel Jesus is all
they have, they will find Jesus is all they ever need.
As we draw nigh unto the Lord, He promises to draw nigh unto us. There are people
who feel they have something missing in their lives. The solution is to go back to the
Father, back home where they belong. God's great love will roll the clouds of darkness
away that souls may see the light of day. Jesus is the light that shines brighter unto
the perfect day. May His love and joy fill hearts today and give new hope and purpose.
With Christ in our lives, everything will be alright. Remember, God gives His children
a merry heart, which is the best medicine of all. In Him, we find true strength, joy, peace
and love. We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. |

Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD: And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: ( Deuteronomy 6:4-6 )(KJV) |
