He Carries Me

I can recall that very first moment
When I gave my heart to the Lord
Just a young girl of fifteen
Never feeling this much love… before

I also recall, as I sat there and prayed
As tears of joy filled my thankful eyes
My heart pounded in its ultimate joy
As my soul gave a welcomed sigh

It was the greatest day
That I have ever known
In that glorious moment
I accepted His love, knowing in my heart
I never again... would be alone

For when I share my deepest thoughts
I never have to utter a phrase
I can share each moment that I feel
As I go throughout my day

And in the moments I feel so sad,
Or sometimes all alone
On those days I just can’t smile
No matter how hard I try

He holds me even tighter
Though no human eyes may ever see
The gracious arms that lifts me up
Comforting… It is then He carries me.
