Who Did That Awful Deed?
WHO DID THAT AWFUL DEED?
It must have been some ogre,
or some mean, perverted soul.
I wonder what psychosis could
have spawned so dark a role?
WHO'D STOOP AS LOW AS THAT?
Perhaps it was some gangster
from the wrong side of the tracks.
It surely was no Christian who
would stoop to such low acts!
WHO SHOULD BE BLAMED FOR THAT?
I hope the one who did it gets
the punishment that's due!
Perhaps a public flogging should be held,
with jail time too!
WHO'D BE AS CRUEL AS THAT?
I have no explanation,
and I'll never even try.
I hang my head in shame,
for I've discovered IT WAS I!
And when I point a finger
at some wrongful thing I see,
I find I have three fingers
that are pointing back at me!
