An Understanding Heart

"...But thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the Lord."
( Lev. 19:18 )

This story is told of a little boy who hobbled into a pet store and said, "I want to buy the puppy in the window."

"He has a crippled leg," said the owner of the store. The little boy then pulled up his pants leg and said, "So have I, so I understand. No one can love him like I can."

It's good to know that our Lord also understands all our weaknesses and afflictions as we walk through this life. He also experienced the bitterness of being betrayed, the scourge of suffering, and the terror of the temptations of the tempter. In all these things, He sinned not, but did the will of the Father. Like the little boy in the story, Jesus says, "I understand." He tells us today that nobody can love us more than He does.

Our Lord calls souls today and invites them to receive His amazing grace and mercy. He understands and knows each teardrop that falls. Every broken heart is known to the Lord. He will pick up all the broken pieces of a life and put them back together again. Only the Lord can take broken vessels and make them into something beautiful for His glory. What a wonderful and understanding Savior we serve! Are you walking in His amazing grace today?
