Why Should The Angels Weep?






There are times when the rain falls hard from above
soaking the ground, day after day;
Till we're desperate and begging God to make it stop
every moment we take time to pray.


Yet, there's a part of me that wonders about the rain
and why at times, it falls without ceasing.
Could it be that we are not worshiping enough
and our praises for God are decreasing?



Could it be that the rainfall is an overflow from heaven
where the angels weep at the sight,
Of the very Prince of Glory and His radiant beauty
so they praise Him with all of their might?


Could it be those same angels listen hard every day
for true worship and honor on earth,
And when they don't hear enough,
they cry tears of worship
for they know what His honor is worth?



Perhaps we're all just too busy with life
that we're crowding God out of the story,
Till we're caught in the mundane, frantic nature of life
and forget to give God rightful glory.


So maybe next time it rains way too long
and we're standing ankle-deep in a flood,
Then we should take time to rejoice in God's majesty
and thank Jesus for the cross and the blood.



Then maybe those angels who listen for our worship
will stop shedding their tears on the floor.
For why should they weep...
when the ransomed of the Lord
have so much to be thankful for.
