Slow Me Down
Slow me down Lord on my life's walk
Along my journey with you each day.
Help me to take time to smell the roses
Enjoying the sweet aroma along the way.
Awake my senses to Your precious gifts.
Help me recognize life's simple pleasures.
As each new day a blessing is sent
A present from You for me to treasure.
A bright morning sun peeping on the horizon
With the glistening of the early morning dew.
That fresh sweet smell of spring blossoms
To the fire of the sun as it burns out at dusk.
Listening to the birds singing in a new day,
The soft purring of a contented kitten,
To the laughter of children hard at play.
Relishing the gently breeze of early spring.
Watching the babbling brook gently flow by
Wading and splashing in the cool of the stream.
Walking through the forest of tall pines
Relaxing and cooling on a hot summer's day.
Lord slow me down to take time to enjoy
The simple little pleasures You give
So that priceless moments I will not waste
Every day let me take time to live!
