Create A New Heart





Create a new heart in me Lord,
So close to you I'll stay.
Give me strength to meet my trials,
When I am prone to stray.



With understanding guard my heart,
And each and every thought.
Keep me from things that displease you,
And do the things I ought.





Give me each day what you deem best,
Whether it's pain or pleasure.
I can make the day with your strength,
Your love beyond measure.



When day is gone and night is here,
And I do search my heart.
I want to know I've done my best,
From your will not to part.





You are the strength of my heart, Lord,
And so hard I will try.
That I may be worthy to serve you,
In my life your word apply.
