Some Sweet Morning





My heart knows there shall be
a sweet morning, one bright day.
When our Savior comes here to earth,
He'll take us there; away.


We wait in our anxiety, full of heart,
to the King of Kings; so nigh.
We surely believe in His sweet coming,
to take us with him on high.



He will appear coming in a cloud,
full of grace and abounding love.
We need to believe and love Him,
knowing He is our Lord, above.


We love our Lord deeply, more and more,
each sweet and lovely day.
Help us, sweet Jesus, to do all you ask
and to each word you say.



Some days you guard us closely,
when you know there may be harm.
We know even mothers and fathers
watch us when there's an alarm.


Some sweet morning's when I am awake,
I am scared and start to cry.
For I know, truly, Thou art watching me,
up there, from the blue sky.



In the summer, Lord, in my mind,
I see you walking in the cool fresh rain.
When it's winter cold, I feel Thee
walking there again and again.


I know Thou will always be there,
for all people that believe Thee.
I know you will keep us, sweet Jesus;
for its in Heaven we want to be.



Some sweet morning, Lord, our people
will be coming back from war.
It has been so lonely, Lord, and it seems
they were away; so very far.


Keep each one in Thy dear heart, Lord,
over all the years to come;
Lord, be it grown men that are well trained,
but not the very young.
