I have glorified thee on the earth; I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do. ( John 17: 4 )
"When a task is once begun,
Never leave it 'till it's done.
Though the task be great or small,
Do it well or not at all."
The above words are part of a little poem I used to hear in school when growing up. We were admonished to always try and finish a task, no matter how difficult it may seem. God will let us know when we have completed any task He has given us, and He is our strength and power in all we do.
In this life we will have many things we undertake to accomplish for the Lord. God wants us to finish the things He gives us to do in his service. He will empower us through His Holy Spirit. Although we may feel unqualified in our work for the Lord, we know God is not looking for our ability, but our availability. Those who are called by God will be equipped by the power and presence of God. We have power in the name of Jesus and His name is the sweetest name one could ever know.
Our Lord wants us to put our whole heart into everything which we attempt to do for Him. When we seek Him with our whole heart, we find He is always there. He is the wind beneath our wings,
the air which we breath, the life which we live each day. In Him we live, move, and have our being. Our Savior's love will carry us each day, as we depend upon His strength... It is only in the power of His might and Spirit that we are able to accomplish anything. We must fully trust in Him and obey His will to be empowered for service.
It has been said "failure in people is caused more by lack of determination, than lack in talent." We are not to be weary in well doing; for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. (Gal. 6: 9) This is a great promise to claim and know God is pleased, when we serve Him with our whole heart.
May we be able to say as the Lord, "I have glorified thee on the earth, I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do." If our goal is to be pleasing to God and reach others for His glory, He will help us to press on and accomplish what we are called to do for Him. We serve an "Awesome God" who is all powerful and loves us with a love that cannot fail. May God be glorified today and always, as we "rejoice in the Lord" who is the joy of our
salvation. Bless His Holy name!
Blessings In Christ,
