I Will Carry You

Please don't feel hurt today, dear friend,
Do not feel set aside,
Your heart is made more tender yet
With Jesus nestled warm inside.

You've been blessed so, with this time of life
To sort out all you'll need,
To prepare for everything He sends,
And know just what to heed.

You may have lost some hearing
But you know the Shepherd's voice,
You hear His every murmur now
For long ago you made that choice.

Your legs may lose some movement
But you know which way to go,
Your heart tugs eagerly forever
Your faith so clearly shows.

Your hands may be too weak to work
Now resting gently in your lap,
Let them rest, you've done it all
So many gifts you have unwrapped.

Your eyesight may be blurring now
So much has lost it's shine,
But God's given you such rosy glasses
To only see the bliss, sublime.

The taste of much may drift away,
With pills for every ill,
But now you long for Living Bread
As ne'er before, your heart to fill.

Your heart may have a strange off beat
Or pump too fast or slow,
But I sure know, it skips a pace
About the Father that you know.

Now crowned with gentle grey of years
God says He will sustain,
The God who carried you this far
Will have comfort in your pain.

He will rescue you from limitations,
Your heart to soar on high,
He won't be just restoring youth-
He'll give you wings to fly

(God said "You are a friend of Mine"
To Abraham, when in his prime
That must be the best reward,
From loving God a whole life-time)

Thy righteousness is like the great mountains; thy judgments are a great deep: O LORD, thou preservest man and beast. How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings. They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures.
( Psalm 36:6-8 )(KJV)

God will carry us through life, if we will only give ourselves to Him.
