The Brokenness Will Bless Us
Many times we face life with visions of grandeur
of what we believe will somehow unfold.
And we look for it daily on the horizon of life
like a blessing of pure, priceless gold.

Yet, often out of nowhere... in the left field of life
comes a chapter filled with heartache and sorrow.
And it takes all our courage to walk on by faith
through the crisis that fills our tomorrows.

But these times of brokenness are not a mistake
where God forgets us or somehow falls asleep.
For they are the tools God uses to show us
the promises He says He will keep.

These times of tragedy, distress, and disappointment
are the times we are forced to look up;
When the God of the Universe lifts up our faces
so we can drink from His merciful cup.

These are the times God does the most work
on the hearts of the ones called His own;
When we let go of self-reliance in the wake of our weakness
to grab onto the strength He has shown.

Through times of great brokenness our hearts are fine-tuned for the song of testimony we send.
And the brokenness doesn't break us... because God makes the way
so we can say we are blessed in the end.

[2] ~ My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
[3] ~ Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
[4] ~ But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
[5] ~ If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
[6] ~ But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
[7] ~ For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.
[8] ~ A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
( James 1:2-8 )(KJV)
[11] ~ Who knoweth the power of thine anger? even according to thy fear, so is thy wrath.
[12] ~ So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.
[13] ~ Return, O LORD, how long? and let it repent thee concerning thy servants. ( Psalm 90:11-13 )(KJV) |
